After Effect Files?

Post by riptide76 »

I was wondering if there was any way to incorporate After Effect files into Magic? My mind races with the possibility if it can! Thanks ahead of time for the help!

Alternatively, if you want to render files out of After Effects (or Premiere Pro) for use in Magic, the HAP codec (1) is an excellent choice as it can be efficiently decoded in the GPU with minimal impact on Magic's performance. The HAP Alpha variant supports transparency. There are high bitrate HAP Q options too.

In its original form the HAP codec used a QuickTime7 wrapper, but support for such codecs was dropped by Adobe (2)
Following an uproar from many professional users of the HAP codec among others (3) Adobe have relented (4) and there's an alpha release HAP exporter that works in Adobe Media Encoder.

1.0.9-rc1 TESTING ALPHA
works well for me in the current version of Media Encoder 2019 (Format: HAP Video, Subcodec type: Hap Alpha). The 1.0.8-rc4 version would not install.

I use magic on my PC (older model and starting to die :( ) So I am good there

So for Adobe stuff it is all Mac. So it shouldn't be a problem. I hope! :P

But thank you for the help. I look forwards to trying this out. both for my personal and maybe for a festival this summer!

There is a syphon plugin for AE at http://tobiasebsen.dk/experiments/aesyphon/ it's free for the lower 1024px size and 20USD for full HD. Looks interesting..
