Alternating Between Two Images

Post by youarenotalone »

I've worked out to use the input selector to get it to switch between two images by linking in a source for the input - one for when the volume is quiet and one for when it is louder.

However, there's some flickering between the two, is it possible to somehow get it to avoid flickering? I was thinking something that holds it well below the point where it switches to input 1 when it's quiet and only when it has been consistently loud does it switch to input 1 (and vice versa, switching back to input 0 only when it has been quiet for a second or two), but I don't know how to do that or if there's a way to do that.

1. Try putting a threshold and a smooth on Input #.
2. Instead try a Mix with a threshold and smooth.
3. Try a Transparency on each image, one with an invert - add a threshold for a clean change.
4. Finally, show the Power parameter for each image, and again add thresholds and one invert modifier.

I found that whatever threshold, there's always some part of the music where it changes between quiet and loud. But for the most part these show one image for loud music and another for quiet or no music.

Yes, the Smooth or Peak modifiers are probably the best first things to try.
