Hey Everyone,
I've been using Magic now for about a year and everything has been working amazing. Love this product, been using midi controllers and live instruments for my band and everything works great when I'm running this on my desktop. So I purchased a new laptop specifically to run this and my midi controllers. Its a i7-8550U with dedicated N'vidia 2GB graphics card with 4k. have 16GB ram and should have no problem running this software. However when I run Magic the preview window does absolutely nothing, I've tried just running a single shader, waveform, spectrum, media file anything and nothing works. I've tried disabling double buffering and vertical sync and messing with the frame rate but it just shows up as an incomplete figure either a non moving shader or waveform or just a stagnant picture. Any help would be greatly appreciated, really want to get it setup for mobility.
Magic Window completely black/not moving
Re: Magic Window completely black/not moving
Hmm, I'm not sure. I haven't heard of that issue before. Sounds like it might be something with your graphics driver. Can you go to Help > OpenGL Info, and copy/paste the first 4 lines into a reply here?
Also, does the Magic window have the status information in the lower-left corner (https://magicmusicvisuals.com/downloads ... nformation), or is it really completely black everywhere?

Re: Magic Window completely black/not moving
Hey Eric,
The screen shows the status information but no FPS just the resolution of the screen.
Heres the Open GL info:
Version: 4.5.0 NVIDIA 381.78
Vendor: NVIDIA Corporation
Maximum RGBA Texture Size: 16384x16384 pixels
Maximum Renderbuffer Size: 16384x16384 pixels

Good, I'm glad you got it working. Downloading the latest drivers is always the best first step.

blank preview window. how to fix ?http://prntscr.com/jsmzs3
Re: Magic Window completely black/not moving
That's not really a blank window. If the resolution and fps are there in the lower-left corner, it means the app is working properly. The problem is most likely that you haven't hooked up your modules and/or sources in a way that would create anything. If you provide a screenshot of your whole project (without the OpenGL window in the way) I can try to guide you in the right direction.

The Kaleidoscope must always have an input source, else you will see nothing on its output.
If you add a Starfield to the kaleidoscope input, with default parameters, you will always get an output.
