For the last few days, I have noticed some buggyness with 2.12.
When I CUT a module, a '002 Crosshatch' module appears out of nowhere, connected to nothing but with an input leash that is attached to the background as if stuck to an invisible output. If I COPY a module a 'v002 Dilate' pops into the line after the module I selected to copy....
Here, I have Copied Chromakeyfast and received an inline 'v002 Dilate' while
two crosshatch hang in the back. When I do paste, it does paste a chromakeyfast.
Any idea what I have done?!??!
Just tried attaching something to the mysteriously spawned 002 Crosshatch. It keeps it's phantom input. There are no other scenes.
Crosshatch appears when CUTting and Copying any module.
Re: Crosshatch appears when CUTting and Copying any module.
Interesting, sorry about that. Did it start happening exactly when you updated to 2.12?
Re: Crosshatch appears when CUTting and Copying any module.
Nope. It seemed to happen around the time I added another... hold on a sec...
folder of modules. I just found out what was doing it, Thank you....
I had a folder titled 'ISFcollection' in Modules2\ISF\Generator.
I moved it to desktop and Magic seems clear of the issue,
so then I renamed it 'collection' and moved it back...
and the bug re-appears.
Ok, I'll try renaming the folder Pookiebear. Still the bug.
I downloaded the folder as a bulk pack of .fs files and there is a bunch of junk in there.
There are 400 some .fs files in there.
(Is that an issue?)
Anyhow~
I'll leave the folder on the desktop and slowly move things over till the bug shows up again.

Re: Crosshatch appears when CUTting and Copying any module.
Ok. First of all, you should never be copying files anywhere inside the Magic folder . Use the Additional Module Folders: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=412
See if that fixes it.
If not, it's possible that the bug is due to a naming conflict. Magic should handle naming conflicts by only allowing the first module to be used, but try making sure that none of the filenames in your pack are duplicates of anything (including any existing Magic modules).
If that doesn't fix it either, it's possible that some of those .fs files are malformed. Magic should handle this also, but maybe something was overlooked.
Lemme know if you're still encountering problems.

Re: Crosshatch appears when CUTting and Copying any module.
Just noticed very similar symptoms here, certain big projects only, two different systems.
- Bug shows if I use the right-mouse context menu to Cut, but not if I use Ctrl+X on keyboard or menu bar Edit>Cut.
- Menu bar Edit then shows option to Undo Insert Module. Clicking that option makes the spurious module and connections disappear.
- Menu bar Edit then shows option to Undo Cut Module. Clicking that option restores to the state before the original right-mouse Cut.

Also, right-mouse Edit>Remove causes a spurious module to appear. Again Menu bar Edit then shows option to Undo Insert Module.
Re: Crosshatch appears when CUTting and Copying any module.
Thanks Terry. With your information I was able to pinpoint that the bug is caused by the number of additional modules (specifically, if it's above a certain threshold). This will be an easy fix for 2.13.

I uploaded a new 2.13 Beta (b2) that should fix this issue. If not, please let me know. https://magicmusicvisuals.com/getbeta
