Spout as input into Magic

Post by wko »

Hi, I am new to Magic and like it. I think that may be a solution for a project, but I need that catch the MaxMSP video output (over Win 7) and I need to use a WebCam at the same time and combine the signal. I use spout to connect Max output to other soft (Ex.Resolume) and work fine, but I can not see spout as VidCap device, only I can select the webcam device.
Any idea?

Good question. Magic version 1.5, which will be released in a week or so, will support FFGL plugins, so you'll be able to use the existing FFGL SpoutReceiver plugin in Magic.

Soon after that we'll be releasing our own native SpoutReceiver module, which will use the newer version of Spout, and will be even more compatible with Magic.

So, check back in a week or so and you should be able to download the Magic 1.5 release. Then all you have to do is add your Spout FFGL plugin folder to the Additional Module Folders in Magic.
