Help with exporting 3D OBJ from Photoshop CS6

Post by smhopton »

I am trying to simply take some 2d logos I have and turn them into 3d obj for use in MMV. I can get the logo exported fine and it exports both the .obj and .mtl but upon loading into MMV it only shows the obj with no applied texture. Can anyone help me with this?

Thank you,

Hi,

I have used a Kinect to make OBJ scans with texutres on them and I get the same resutls.

I think textures are not supported.

Textures are supported :). You might want to try making sure the texture files are in the same folder as the OBJ file...

Im trying to do the same thing with a OBJ. I have a texture file with both a normal map and a specular image as JPG in the same folder as the OBJ. But I can't get it to stick on the object.... I guess I need to create a .mtl file from the jpg? How do I create such a file? Im used to work in Element3D and its textures are .jpgs or .dds

Thanks for any advice : )
