This was a lucky hit. I'm able to send midi notes to magic over wifi with an android app called Piano for You (I'm sure there are other apps which support midi over wifi). Another solution is to use Resolume Arena as your base software. Magic is a great tool, but it is not a stand alone VJ solution. The Blend module is designed for images that *don't* have an alpha channel. It's really for color blending only. So an alpha channel can actually screw things up. Re: Goto Start threshold and modifier bypassing
ah yes for using volumes that actually makes a lot of sense. in my scenario i'm still trying to switch between videos/otherSources within the same scene so i'm not limited by the amount of midi buttons on my controllers. the other thing with the inverted behaviour of learned params is not possible c...

[solved] ]Goto Start threshold and modifier bypassing
I noticed that the threshold of the Goto Start of the videofile module seems to be at 0.5. And it's only triggered when the value changes from <= 0.5 to > 0.5, but not the other way around. Is there a specific reason for this? I initially assumed Goto Start = true if the value is 1 or something like...

Re: how do i convert a sawtooth into a sine?
okay thanks. i need to use the expression modifier because it transforms the incoming beatclock, which is basically a ramp.artnik wrote:Yes, that will work.
Also, you could just use the SIN OSC(illator) modifier. It already is normalized to output from 0 to 1.

Re: how do i convert a sawtooth into a sine?
so.. this transformation moves the value into a sine that seems to go from -1 to 1, it's difficult to tell though, as the values are changing rapidly. but if this is correct, is it also correct that i can normalize it between 0 and 1 by using a scale of 0.5 and then an add of 0.5 ? i want to use thi...

Right! I did not know that, thanks Blackdot. But still, I think its so much easier to understand them when I can see the change it does, instead of trying to understand the "cryptic" text (I'm not so familiar with all the terms). thats true of course. lets see what eric will come up with ...

no i meant 2pi*x instead of sin(2pi*x). but in the mean time a friend who studies electrical engineering explained it to me and i understood it. i think . so it's fine, and thanks a lot for the expression

Re: how do i convert a sawtooth into a sine?
awesome thanks. yeh from 0 to 2pi makes sense, i wouldnt have known though how to write this. so you multiply it with 2pi, that means when it's 1 it's 2pi and when it's 0 it's 0. but what exactly happens if you put that into sin(). resp. why does it make a sin curve then? O.o

[solved] how do i convert a sawtooth into a sine?
i want to modify an incoming beatclock which is basically like a sawtooth curve in a way that smooths the thing out like a sine. i tried the smooth modifier but that's either too smooth or too biased towards the sawtooth. i figured you math wizards know an easy answer?

hi, hope a thread like this is ok, so eric can debunk certain request ideas because they're not thought through enough, are already planned to implement or arent possible due to software design or tech. - stretching the beatclock over 2 and 4 beats was implemented at some point. is there a reason wh...

your spout performance increase sounds awesome, 2 percent of ram doesnt seem to be a lot though. also the thing is percentages dont say too much. my win7 machine only uses 15% of ram in idle, but as i have 16gb, thats still a whopping 2,5 gb.

according to this: http://www.vidvox.net/forums/viewtopic. ... ap#p115472 HAP is only using the mov container and apparently on windows that's not multlithreaded, so we're again limited to only a few parallel playbacks.
