Adding an "Erode" module in the alpha feed to the "Mask" module will add a black border (right-hand image). This can be useful to isolate the camera image from the background if it would otherwise be hard to distinguish.

The problem is caused by alpha not being zero in the background of your small picture. It should be zero, but is just very low. This means that the transparency is not 100%, just close to it. Re: Shadertoy to ISF

... I will have a look when I get a chance. Thanks Eric! This shader is particularly interesting with its built-in DSP audio filtering. It will be great if that's possible in Magic. Shouldn't your AudioToImage module have Spectrum selected, not Waveform? Maybe not, I dunno. It's definitely AudioToI...

Oops, I just noticed that my Magic project has the XY scope module in Points rather than Lines mode. It makes the trail a little more responsive when the persistence is maxed out. In the ISF editor I much prefer the Lines mode.

Re: Shadertoy to ISF

Odd. I've attached a project that I tried on two of my systems (both GTX1070) and it runs at good speed, running 720p at nearly 200fps at the same time as the ISF editor. With no music input there's normally a small dot in the centre of the screen. Here's a screenshot of the attached project running...

Re: Shadertoy to ISF

I wanted to use the awesome Shadertoy XY Audio Oscilloscope in Magic. https://www.shadertoy.com/view/3t23Rt The current shadertoy_to_isf script only produced minimal output, so I used the VIDVOX ISF editor to import from Shadertoy which managed much better. I highly recommend this editor for Windows...

Ok that's probably good enough for now... More than good enough for me. Those bugs have been bugging me for ages. I'm delighted that a simple Spout setting will avoid them. Thanks again Eric! ... Ah, 64-bit works fine.

From the 64-bit version I tried saving the project under a different name and then re-opened that in 32-bit Magic. Same problem, no visible text.

I also tried deleting Magic's XML file, the problem persisted.

Mysterious invisibility of Text module output

I've recently been plagued by non-visibility of the contents of my Text modules, not resolved by re-installing or updating graphics drivers. Re: After Effect Files?

Alternatively, if you want to render files out of After Effects (or Premiere Pro) for use in Magic, the HAP codec (1) is an excellent choice as it can be efficiently decoded in the GPU with minimal impact on Magic's performance. The HAP Alpha variant supports transparency. There are high bitrate HAP...

Re: Spout Receiver Causing Trails To Not Work

If ever the Trails module unexpectedly has no significant effect I add a LumaKey module in front of it and vary the Strength and Falloff parameters.
The LumaKey module then generates the necessary alpha channel. I can't remember any cases where this hasn't fixed the problem.

At the expense of some of your blur, you can add an Antialias module between the Edge Blur module and the Magic Module.

Yes, certain of the other sizes. Experimentally any integer dimensions with the valid range are accepted and delivered. There's no output if either the X- or Y-limits are exceeded.
