Re: Conditionally Running a Module?

There are several ways to 'turn off' a branch of the graph or bypass a single node. Read the section Bypass/Power Parameters and look at the sample project https://magicmusicvisuals.com/downloads/Magic_UsersGuide.html#DisablingModules You can also use the Transparency module and the Input Selector t...

Re: Video sync between scene changes

A little programming knowledge would certainly help but isn't essential. The syntax of the expression modifier is C like but uses very little C notation (no data types, pointers etc.) The expression is awesome for glueing bits of magic together with conditionals and once you get your head around it,...

Re: Video sync between scene changes

Normally to have a video sync throughout you'd just put it into its own scene then include that scene wherever you need it. But I don't think that would help you in this situation. Perhaps an expression might help you, something like this: if (PlayBackTime > normal_speed_bit_start and PlayBackTime <...

Creating Buildings with the Iterator

Here's a new piece of work. I created this using the iterator to tile images of windows into rectangular planes. You need a lot of discipline to keep within the 3d realm and it is definitely not real-time - render out only.

You can also use the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl+T and Ctrl+R for next and previous scene - you don't need the playlist for this but you need to have the tabs visible for this to work. https://magicmusicvisuals.com/downloads/Magic_UsersGuide.html#TableOfKeyboardShortcuts OBS can send OSC using a Python ...

Re: Echo effect?

OK then. Decide how many echoes you want, and create differentiated versions of each. In my example above, I changed the x-location and the transparency of each echo. Then use an Input selector to display each echo in turn - no need for extra delays. A Trails helps here to give each echo some persis...

Re: 3D Models in Magic

You could. Large models would take some moments to load however. You cannot automate a camera per se, but you can rotate and transform models thereby effectively moving the camera.

You would be better off using a a shader to simulate galaxies rather than polygons.

Well, IDK Reaper but I guess it is acting like an ASIO device somehow and therefore Magic hears it through ASIO4All. VLC and Firefox aren't ASIO devices - you'll need a software audio router for those and other apps.

It looks like some noise has been used as a particle effector. You should checkout Particle Illusion from BorisFX. T...

Basics of audio reactivity - tutorial

Hello peeps, in this tutorial I cover some basics of making visuals react to audio, how to combine and layer reactions and how to set-up a basic BPM driven scene. I make use of globals and expressions throughout. Comments welcome, I'm still a newb at these. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gV1GuJzbSK4

Eric is right for real extrusion, better off creating them elsewhere. However it is possible to fake them in real-time to a certain extent.

A quick video shows the effectiveness of the 3D and showing the (two) nodes required to achieve it.

Assuming your 'lips' have an alpha channel, scale and blur a copy then multiply with a swirling texture. Then place the untouched image on top. It won't interact with the edges of the lips but it will be close to the effect you want.
