Re: Benchmarks for various NVIDIA graphics cards?
Yes, it is true that the Magic Window size does matter a little bit. To standardize this across different computers, the desktop resolution would have to be set the same on all of them, i.e., 1920x1080.

You shouldn't need to change any code. What you need to do is use the AudioToImage module, which "converts" audio data into image data that ISF modules can use. This will work with any ISF module that takes an image input.

There are already two existing solutions for this: 1) Use the Restart module, which has a param you can trigger to restart any modules connected to its input(s). That option is really a scene setting. The playlist is just a numerical list for ordering scenes, and it's a little bit tricky because, for example, you could have two playlist entries that point to the same scene, and what happens if you set one entry to "on", and another to "off&quo...

Your Radeon is a pretty good card, with 8GB of RAM. To crash that, your scene must be VERY complicated. Remember, you can't just add endless effects and expect everything to work fine. I would suggest really examining your complicated scenes and trying to simplify them.

Re: Trouble Getting MMV to Recognise and LoaANY FFGL Plug-in
I sent him an updated version of Magic that has less restrictive security settings for loading external modules on Big Sur. If you contact us through our contact page I will do the same for you.

Re: VideoFolder module - controlled loop time?
The Goto Next button is a trigger. You don’t want a Trigger modifier there also. That would be two triggers, and it would break things. The Sin Osc is enough.

Re: midi configuration is not preserving itself
If you want to preserve the continuity of the default device settings, the devices have to be connected and powered on before starting Magic. I believe this is explained further in the User’s Guide.

Re: having to hit midi keys HARD to trigger things
Do you understand how MIDI velocity works? In most cases, the pressure of the key results in a value between 0 and 127. By default, Magic will assume that any value of 64 or greater (which Magic interprets as 0.5 or greater) means "on" for a trigger. But this is easily changeable using the...

Re: HELP ... Controlling Magic by a second computer ...
The thing about network cables is that they can be run over very long distances. Something like 100 meters / 300 feet. A MIDI cable will have problems at that distance unless you use a repeater or some intermediary device. Plus I think network cable is less expensive.

Re: toggle as a parameter
Modifiers have a toggle option and you can use this to accomplish what you're looking for.
Alternatively, most MIDI controllers let you set toggle directly on a button.

Re: Option to set color of connecting cables
I reckon so, and it would add a bit of eye-candy to interface That's sort of the reason I haven't done it. I don't want the interface to be eye candy, I want it to be as clean and simple as possible. Other people have suggested being able to change the color of modules themselves, but I rejected th...

Long cables, particuarly network cables, are the best solution. Never rely on Wi-Fi for a performance; it's too unreliable and unpredictable.

Disabling nodes does free their GPU memory. You can watch this in real-time if you have memory monitoring enabled.

Re: Transparency effect question
Not really, because this type of mixing can be solved by using multiple Transparency or Color modules. A dedicated module would just be a shortcut, and I tend to de-prioritize things that have a reasonable workaround.

A Ramp modifier with a value of x will repeat every 1/x seconds. So if you want a 5 second repeat, use .2; or a 10 second repeat, use .1.

You need to save your models in a way that has the texture file names inside the model file. The OBJ format is one example that lets you do this.

Re: Writable(!) variables
Another way of saying what I said above is that you don’t assign a value to a global; rather, a global assigns a value to itself. Thus, if you want to save values for later, all your code should be inside one or more globals.
