I now use v2.2b1 (it is the only one that i still had the image of, but the stable version of 2.2 also worked fine).
I work on a macbook air 2012 and OSX 10.14.1

I experience similar problems with the newest versions (both beta and stable). It runs extremely laggy. Seems to be more the case for some individual scenes (which ran fine on the older version).
