Hi djOle
I haven't heard of Handbrake, but I will check it out. If it does as you say, then it is worth a try.
Thanks

Re: Video file size
Hi Blackdot, Thanks for your detailed reply confirming that duration and bitrate are the determining factors for file size, but it doesn't shed any light on the issue I am experiencing with exporting from MMV. Halving the bitrate for a video should halve the file size - it doesn't. I have created tw...

Video file size
This is not something that has affected me in the past, but I have recently started uploading my music videos to a site which has a file size limit and so I need to manage my video file sizes. I found a post on this subject from a couple of years ago, and this is what was said at the time: "The...

Re: Time-based activity
Thanks Eric. Strange, I have never experienced this before exporting midi files from a project - they have always retained the project bpm ( or at least, they appear to). I'll have to look more closely at what is peculiar about these midi files or the way that they were generated. At least I know wh...

Re: Time-based activity
Eric, Link to files as requested. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/wj41ara11123the/AACM9RGsuygruXP5CnsnFDkZa?dl=0 I am using StudioOne and the midi files were used to create the original drum part. I have tried opening a completely new session in StudioOne and loading the mixed audio file and the midi fil...

Re: Time-based activity
Eric, I used the midiexample project as my starting point and just substituted my own wav and midi files (file attached). Superficially it looks OK initially, but as time progresses the timing starts to slip. At around 25 seconds there is a snare drum roll and you can see that the relative visual ap...

Re: Time-based activity
I have tried using midi files but have a problem with latency. I have taken the drum part for one of my songs and extracted a midi file for each of the kick and snare, with a view to having a visual pulsing in time with the beats. I haven't timed it precisely, but there is about a 2 second delay bet...

Re: OpenGL ES
Thanks for the response Eric. I like the immediacy of the iPhone/iPad. They are on all the time and I always have one or both close to hand - if I have an idea I can quickly capture it or I can work on things in odd moments. My use of the PC is more planned/ task oriented - I can only use it in the ...

OpenGL ES
I am hoping to be able to create shaders on my iPad to use with Magic. The various apps I have found all produce shaders using OpenGL ES - will these run on Magic or will I need to modify the code? I appreciate that this may be a "how long is a piece of string" type question, but some guid...
