Do you use Reaper for encoding/decoding? I agree this could be an improvement if Magic could handle multichannel audio and make 3D sound placement available in modules.

Hello You can link any parameter to any midi note. First you have to a midi source, of course, and then you can set the way parameter are modulated: by notes, by specific midi note/velocity, by control number.. Cliking on "source feature" on any module will run the midilearn and you just h...

Hello Weirdwolvesmusic! I use magic with my rock band, feeding it with audio (Mics and line input) and midi (from keyboards, drumpads, midiguitar), so I can maybe help you. Hello, hope you have found a solution for your SPD. If not, here is a trick: use "loopMIDI" (Tobias Erichsen) to route your midi input to a VST host (Vst host by Hermann Seib is a light and robust one) and load midi vst such as found in "Pizmidi" plugin suite to filter Note off m...

Re: Using MIDI to toggle a module parameter on/off
hello Davy, late to the party, hope you have solved the issue. SPD and almost all drum triggers send note on and note off messages, but the interval between the 2 midi messages is too short for magic (and other softs). You'll have to filter the note off message before it reach Magic. You can do it b...

Both programs are running from the SSD, and the datas (audio, video, 3d models, midi) are on 1T HDD.
Runs fine enough to render complex 3D anims with both midi and audio used as live stream or preloaded files.

Billie on the storm
Made this one with Mux. Mux is a modular VST plugin. I've built a little 6 track live sequencer, running in standalone mode with Savihost (tiny VST host) it works like the old Yamaha PSR series, left hand to play the sequenced chords/bass/drums, right hand for the melody. The whole track was made in...

Re: remapping midi OR ignore incoming midi notes
No luck with this one... BTW, I tested Tobias's loopmidi and it works fine: You can create/delete/mute midi ports on the fly. What you need for your purpose with this one is a piece of midi software that can split incoming notes, change midi channels. I think you could try Mutools's MUX, a modular V...

Re: Another magic midi
All the sync events is this final scene are made via midi. With my new laptop, I'm able to play a Korg keyboard, a Roland electronic drum set, a midified guitar, and a tiny midi controler all together, each instrument emitting on his own midi channel and having his dedicated visual. Great fun with m...

Another magic midi
This one did put my old laptop on his knees. I had to use 2 instances for some models (the "bass couple"), one in 3DS format for texturing, covered by another one in LWO format for specular/shininess. I had to remove a scene with 3D models textured with a video file (using "refractor&...

Re: Looking for a virtual MIDI control surface (on Windows)
Yes you can do many things in both audio and midi domain. For example have a single knob or fader liked to many parameters, and you can alter those parameters with many things, including maths, modulators or audio. The perfect companion for Magic. I almost forget it, it was buried somewhere in my la...

Re: Looking for a virtual MIDI control surface (on Windows)
Another solution: DIY. You can buit a controller plugin with MUX http://www.mutools.com/mux-product.html It's a modular thing, you can built synths, audio and midi processors. It works with virtual cables and modules, like our beloved Magic, and you can design your front user panel , map harware ins...

Re: Looking for a virtual MIDI control surface (on Windows)
I've found these: https://www.bluecataudio.com/Products/Product_RemoteControl/ Can save/load presets. Blue Cats plugins are well done. This is a VST plugin, but you can convert it to a standalone version with Savihost http://www.hermannseib.com/english/savihost.htm . Savihost bank and presets can be...

Re: InputSelector: passing existing input # into an expressi
Hi Directordash. I'm working a lot with midi, live inputs from keyboards and controllers and prepared midifiles. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if this can help you, but I used another way to map notes to input channels. Assuming you have 9 images to show, you could use it: note selector.jpg I n your c...

Re: 3D textures issues
I just reduced the 3DS model in the 3 axes with scale. This works for some simple models, but in this exemple, a simple torus, the internal diameter is reduced too, so it's not very accurate. This is just a workaround, not suitable for project with several 3 D models. I would like to have the 3DS or...

3D textures issues
It may be an issue on my side, but I encoutered some strange things with textures on 3D models. For any 3DS model, the textures are here (*speccol, *difcol and *ambicol), but no specular. From LWS format, I get the right specular, but no textures are loaded. So I had a little workaround to have both...

Re: A repeater module would be awesome !!!!!
For midi controls it could be useful to have a note repeater too in the module. Say you start from not 36 and increment the note number by 1 (or more)
This way building an animated keyboard woud be a piece of cake.

Re: Her OS - Midi Controlled Video
I would say, if you are sure about your text motion, and fast enough with After Effects, the rendered video is the more simple approach and less time consuming. However, if you want to test some effects in place, doing it in Magic can be also effective, once your setup is fine. The almost endless po...

Re: Through Sophie's Lens
I don't know wich RME model you have but you should try with the RME Totalmix routing, wich is not really user-friendly... Another option is to export the audio as Wav file to Magic and work only with midi trough LoopBe. I also have a software midi router, but I still use 2 computers: A laptop for M...
