Saving/loading Input Sources
Hi, I very often have to work with different setups of audio and MIDI gear. That makes it necessary to remap all the sources to their respective inputs. Mostly these are three or four setups I have to switch to. It would be a very helpful feature if we could safe and load setups of Input Sources. On...

BTW a question to Eric: If it happens that Magic looses contact to a MIDI-device: Could You make something like a MIDI rescan without the need to close Magic? Re: Need help: Having issue with midi controller
Hi, I am using two Launch Control XL in my setup. Since there is no unique identification which one is which I can connect only one of them directly to USB, the other one has to go through another device so it is recognized by the system as a different piece of MIDI. In my case it connects to a RME ...

Thanks. I did not know this switch yet. At least with nativ 60 fps it works now. I can define whatever fps or resolution I want in the Nvidia control panel as custom resolution. Thats exactly what I did. I changed all devices to 30 fps. But vertical sync does nothing. I use Spout to feed MadMapper. So maybe Magic sees a 60 fps there? But it does not sync to that either. It just runs free. And it does not matter if MadMapper is running or not. Even if setting all devices to ...

Re: Control colours
Thanks for Your thoughts.
I will experiment on Your proposals. And I am confident to achieve some progress in what I am looking for. I still feel that reducing contrast is not what I am looking for. I do not want to get the images flaw. But I may be wrong. Hands on will proof it.
Thanks
Reinhard

Re: Control colours
Hi Terry, that is exactly what I feel: Using the RGB sliders does not translate a wide colour range into a narrow one. Thanks for the hint with HSVtoRGB.fs. I will check out if it hewlps me. Sounds promising. Unfotunately I am not familiar in writing my own ISF modules or hack an existing one. So an...

Control colours
What I really would like to have is some means to control the often overwhelming colours of some shaders (or whatever source). I think of something like setting a range into which all the original colours are compressed. A lot of shaders cycle through the entire colour wheel. Instead I would like to...

Re: Different Kind of Rotation
You need a second translate after the rotate module to move the origin of Your needle to where You want it. It usually is better to set the scale factor first to determine the range of the needle. Then use offset if needed. To mimic the ballistics of a VU You could use a smooth and a peak module. Re...

Re: Summing soundenergy
While trying to find some solution I stumble over several issues which might help and possibly were easy to implement: 1. I tried to insert an Offset modifier in order to pull back the increasing value at a certain point. While it is possible to connect the parameter with a MIDI-controller this does...

Re: Summing soundenergy
Well. I currently use two ways to do it: CMD+E starts everything. In some scenes this can work if there is no video involved. And the Input switch is also an option if You just want to reset the specific module. But it is a bit tricky since if You want to avoid a black screen while switching You hav...

Re: Summing soundenergy
Yes well, but there never is a fall back when that guy (e.g.) stops playing. It is just running and summing forever. I would like to at least have a manual reset (to a treshold value - offset). I could use the bypass toggle to mimic a reset. But unfortunately that only works if performed with the mo...

Re: Locking video to audiotrack
Yes, I thought about the latter one: Getting some MIDI-command and use it with Samplitude (in my case). I use a RME Fireface as audio interface with Magic and could take a second one to have MIDI go into my laptop with Samplitude. That would be great for me: Have a start command out of Magic for the...

Summing soundenergy
Hi, I have a question and I believe it is possibe to do that with an expression. But I am somehow lost. So here is my question: I would like to sum up the energy of a sound, e.g. if a guy blows into his horn and holds the tone the factor should rise until he let got. Is that possible? Curious Reinhard

Re: Locking video to audiotrack
Ok, at least it is good to know how Your architecture is planned. I know that things can mess up very quickly if all of the options suggested are implemented. Of course there are more choices and possiblities. But things get messed up and You loose a fast and intuitive user interface. It is Your dec...

Re: Transparency effect question
While talking about transitions, there is one I would love: VideoFile Module, looping. When the loop is to start again I very much would appreciate a fade transition from the end of the file into the beginning. So no hard jumps in the video will occur.

Re: Locking video to audiotrack
Hi, I would like to make a suggestion: How about a media module that is just loading audio ( I will not think about tweaking the audio, a level control would be handy). The only input is a trigger from a videoloader (maybe a MIDI trigger too). So everytime the video is at its startingpoint it will t...

Re: BlackSpout feedback
Yes, I tried (nearly) all possible resolutions. 1080p60 as well as 720p60 connects and I can see it in BMD Desktop Video Utility and in Resolume. But BlackSpout window shows a white screen and Magic VidCap shows the device but no picture.

Re: BlackSpout feedback
OK. Here we are. I post 3 screenshots: One is the regular windows screenresoltion window. The second is NVidia control center. Third one is HWInfo to show a summary of the computer and details of the card. I could provide a HWInfo of the receiver also. Should I? You see that windows shows just 1920 ...

Hi,
I now tried with different resolutions, also 720p. No luck. I can see BlackSpout in Media but screen stays black.

Re: BlackSpout feedback
Hi Eric, thanks for answering. And yes, I tried all possible resolutions incl. lower ones progressive and interlaced. The Blackmagic card only responds to my other computers HDMI output in 1080i60. But as said: This works with Resolume. Maybe I should try some tweaks on that senders graphic resoluti...

Re: BlackSpout feedback
Hi, I desperately try to get live input from my Blackmagic Intensity Pro 4k. I want to bring in the output screen of another computer via HDMI. This works in Resolume. But I would like to do it in Magic. So I start Black Spout, the card is recognized correctly, I specify #1 (HDMI) and set mode to 9 ...

May I ask how things are now? I am Win 8.1 x64 and can't access my BM Intensity Pro 4K. Would be perfect if that worked.

Re: Delayed reaction on audio
Hi, and thanks for response. first: It is also delayed when I use a waveform-modul. Then: The dispaly device is a Panasonic PT AT 5000. This has a small delay I know. But I did not think it was so big. When I use it with a bluRay-player no extra delay for audio is necessary normally. Anyway, I will ...

Delayed reaction on audio
Hi, I have a project running with live audio inputs. Problem is that the visual response to ingoing audio is delayed too much, some 0.5 seconds at least. I use RME FireFace with very small buffers. All in all there should not be more than 20 mS of delay be introduced by that. So the main delay must ...
