Show Free Graphics Memory.
If the graphics card does not support this, does this mean that MMV doesn't show this option in the Magic Window Option menu? I'm on a Mac Studio.

Re: In the round with ambisonics
Impressive! Not very uplifting though, but then again we live in dangerous times for our climate. (I recognize some infuence of Pink Floyd...)

Re: Alpha transparency in VideoFile module
It turns out that the free 500 frames from AfterCodecs is not enough for me. So I searched further and found that Premiere Pro 2025 (yes they are ahead of their time :) ), does offer export of a video with alpha channel that MMV does accept. This YT explains it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-eGBr...

Re: start of shader
I think I found the answer. I activated the power option on the module and then used the treshold modifier to set the value at which the input value of the parameter triggers the power. So e.g. I set the treshold to 0.3 and the input in my case was a steady stream of increasing midi volume (cc7) dat...

start of shader
How do I pospone the start of a shader? As soon as I add the module to the scene the shader effect starts also. I want it to start a certain amount of time later. How to achieve this? TIA!

Re: Alpha transparency in VideoFile module
I had the same issue on my Mac. After trying many various HAP decoders, only one did the job. I think it's because all these are outdated and/or maybe not compatible wit a Silicon Mac. The one that works is a plugin for Premiere Pro called AfterCodecs from Autokroma. But it only works for HAP Alpha ...

Re: using shaders from shadertoy.com
Thanks for your reply! After my post I came across another thread about this subject and your contribution. I had already installed the ISF editor. So I used it for the failing shader and indeed it gave a programming error. It was just one, so I have to find out how to correct the error. It was abou...

using shaders from shadertoy.com
I did find a few interesting shaders on shadertoy.com and my question is: why do some shaders load without a problem in MMV and others don't? What makes a shader compatible with Magic?

Re: MDK on Mac
Thanks for the reply. The library (in this case the OpenGL.framework) was statically linked, but I did put the wrong dylib file into the folder I wanted to add to Magic. That was because the build with Xcode yielded two dylib files with the same name, but in different folders, and I picked the wrong...

MDK on Mac
Today I tried the MDK with the provided example. This is what I did: on a Silicon Mac (Mac Studio in my case) the build succeeded, but wiht many deprecated errors and the resulting example.dylib file was not recognized by Magic. I used Xcode 16.1 on my iMac (Intel, with Monterey and Xcode 13.4.1) th...

Add Additional Folder for shaders not working?
I downloaded the GLSLShaders Expansion pack, pointed to the folder with 'Add Additional Folder', but the folder doesn't show up in the 'Add' menu. Is this the expected behaviour? (I added a folder with ISF files and this one does show up.)

Re: MIDI note number of a chord
Thanks for the reply! So if I understand you correctly, ONLY with the MIDI learn function I can link to a specific note. In the meantime I figured that when I change the velocity to a fixed amount, say 64 for all notes, and then use the link to Note Velocity, this would be the same as linking to a s...

MIDI note number of a chord
Hi, Which note number is reported when the input of a MIDI file is a chord of which each note starts at the same time (quantized notes)? Also why is it not possible to link the source to a specific note number, as it is the case with note velocity? If this is possible then one can link certain (or a...
