I ended up exporting the audio from the original MOV as an M4A file, then assigned that to the scene so I could export for the length of the clip with reactive visuals. Clunky, but worked for this experiment.

I run all sorts of multimedia stuff here and the interface is working fine for several different DAWs, OBS, and a number of other things. Definitely not a newbie.
